Women, Media and Werewolves at PPW 2026

From 18 to 20 September, we met up at a villa on the Semmering for our Policy Weekend (PPW) to spend a weekend doing what defines us: getting to grips with liberal ideas.

One focus was women’s policy. Building on the results of the relevant working group, we revisited key demands and found suitable solutions, which will also serve as the basis for the lead motion at the 34th National Congress.

Our second focus was media policy. One group looked in depth at how to ensure an independent media landscape in Austria and how the ORF, Austria’s public broadcaster, should be structured to keep it as free as possible from political influence.

After the policy work, we filled our evenings with plenty of thrilling rounds of Werewolf. We also made the most of the house’s stunning location and, on Saturday, went for a (not so) short walk with the best views around.

We had a brilliant weekend and are already looking forward to the next PPW!
