Remembrance means Responsibility
On 10 May 2026, a JUNOS delegation took part in the International Liberation and Commemoration Ceremony at the Mauthausen Memorial. Together with thousands of other participants, we honoured the victims of National Socialism and commemorated the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp.
For us, remembrance is about more than looking back at the past. The crimes of the Nazi regime remind us where exclusion, hatred, and the disregard for freedom and human dignity can lead. That is why it is more important than ever to take responsibility and stand up for democracy, the rule of law, and an open society.
Taking part in the Liberation Ceremony is one way we live up to that responsibility. As a liberal youth organisation, we remain committed to ensuring that freedom, human dignity, and mutual respect continue to form the foundation of our society.
